Taco Pizza makes for a great appetizer for a party, or a great easy-to-make meal! Lord knows that my husband loves tacos and he loves pizza, so he was pretty excited to hear that this was on the menu for the night.
2 tubes of refrigerated crescent rolls
1 8 oz. package of cream cheese
1 c. sour cream
1 lb. of ground turkey (or ground beef)
1 packet of taco seasoning
1 c. cheddar cheese
1 c. salsa
1 c. lettuce
**add any of your favorite toppings!
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
On a lightly greased, large cookie sheet, unroll crescent dough. Pinch the perforations together to seal edges. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
When finished, place into refrigerator for 20 minutes to cool.
In a bowl, soften the cream cheese and add the sour cream. Stir until well mixed. Spread evenly over cooled crust.
Cook the ground turkey in a skillet until brown and crumbly. Drain then return to skillet and add taco seasoning. (I normally complete this step while the crust is cooling. Saves time!)
Sprinkle the ground turkey evenly over the top of the cream cheese/sour cream mixture. Next, gently spread the salsa over the ground turkey. Don’t worry, it doesn’t have to look perfect.
Finally, top with cheddar cheese and lettuce. Add fun toppings for move flavor!
